3 men, aged 21-30, arrested for rioting after fight in Toa Payoh industrial canteen

No winners.

Three men, aged between 21 and 30, have been arrested for rioting after a fight occurred in Toa Payoh on Aug 24.

Efforts to trace the other people involved are under way, the police said.

The police said they were alerted to a case of fighting at Block 10B Lorong 7 Toa Payoh at 9:50am.

What video showed
A video circulating on Telegram showed more than 10 people throwing tables, chairs, and fists.

The location appeared to be a canteen at Toa Payoh Industrial Park.

A man with an item in his hand appeared to strike another man.

Shin Min Daily News reported that the item looed like a knife.

The man was pulled away in time to avoid getting struck.

Others tried to stop the fight.

At least eight people were seen running across the road from the canteen towards a block of flats.

Shin Min reported that the ground was littered with broken glass and blood was seen on some chairs in the aftermath of the incident.

A kitchen knife and a pair of sneakers was seen on the ground.

大巴窑工业区咖啡店今早发生暴力冲突，两帮人马逾十人斗殴，挥拳相向、桌椅怒砸、持刀砍人，酒瓶碎片散落一地，惊动大批警员到场。

这起事故发生在星期天（24日）早上9时许，地点是大巴窑工业区9号咖啡店。

《新明日报》接获公众通知，指上述咖啡店发生暴力冲突，甚至有人持刀伤人。记者赶往现场时，两帮人马皆已离开。

据观察，咖啡店的路旁停着两三辆警车，涉事区域已拉起封锁线，数名警员在场调查和维持秩序，另有个别警员戴手套进入咖啡店取证。

咖啡店内一片狼藉，桌椅等东倒西歪，地上也满是玻璃碎片，个别椅子上还有点点血迹。此外，地面上留下一把菜刀和掉落的运动鞋。

一则拍下事发经过的视频过后被上载到社媒，可看到事发时约十几名男子从对面马路冲进咖啡店，走向其中在座的两三名男子，不由分说地对着他们拳打脚踢。

过程中，其中一人搬起椅子砸向一名黑衣男子，身边两名同伙更是抬起桌子先后砸向黑衣男，尽管对方尝试出言阻止，但几人下手毫不留情。

与此同时，角落头相信是与黑衣男同行的男子也被众人围殴，脸上遭人打了一拳，随即另一人又冲上前，拿着看似小刀的利器往男子肩膀上捅了一刀，所幸被其他人及时拉开。

冲突持续约数分钟，过后袭击者迅速逃离，跑向对面组屋区。

现场的知情人士透露，事发时两桌外围的男子正在喝酒，突然间就看到一大批人冲入咖啡店，然后就听到一片吵杂声，具体原因并不清楚。

“他们一进来就直接动手，应该是寻仇或早有预谋，太吓人了。”

截至中午12时许，警方仍在现场调查。
