  		RACE 1 - H2 , who was. a twice winner on this track last season, has failed to win in three goes from this mark but he ran with merit in defeat over course and trip last time when runner-up behind a warm favourite that made all last time. He ended up outside the leader that night, and the speed did hold-up, but he did the tough yards and whilst no match for the winner, he was clear of the others. That was just his second spin since May, so he could come on a bit for the run.
 
According to the rider, it wasn’t their intention to sit handy last time, but he is drawn a lower more favourable draw here, so they may elect to do similar here, and although the handicapper has left him alone, he carries 2lb more here in what looks a softer Class 4.

  		RACE 2 - H9  has just one win from thirty-five starts, but in context, he ran well in defeat on his return when runner-up over course and trip behind a rival that wasn’t beaten far at a level above this at his next start, and one spot in front of a subsequent winner, and whilst the strike rate is far from inspiring, Purton does take over here.
